The transition plan

Switch microneedling systems without starting over.

Most practices do not stay on an expensive cartridge because they love the device. They stay because changing it sounds like a project. Here is exactly what the change involves, start to finish.

What actually happens

Four steps, about a month.

The device is the easy part. The part that decides whether a switch works is whether your team is confident and your schedule stays full.

  1. Before install

    Valuation and inspection

Send the brand, model, approximate purchase year and confirmation that the device is owned outright. We return a preliminary credit range, then confirm it on inspection. Nothing is final until you have the number in writing.

    • Preliminary credit range
    • Serial and condition check
    • Written confirmation before you commit
  2. Week 1

    Install and train

Your Apex Pro arrives with starter cartridges. Training covers depth selection, cartridge choice by treatment area, workflow, and the post-treatment protocol, so the team is not learning on a paying patient.

    • Device setup and handling
    • Depth and cartridge protocols
    • Post-treatment support with ApexPDRN+
  3. Week 2

    Run it on staff first

Treat your own team before you book patients. It builds provider confidence, and it produces the before and after photography you will use to sell the service for the next year.

    • Staff treatments
    • Standardized photography
    • Consultation language practice
  4. Weeks 3 to 4

Relaunch to the patients you already have

You do not need new demand to fill the first weeks. Recall the patients who have had microneedling before, add it to consults already on the books, and pre-sell the series rather than the single treatment.

    • Recall list to prior patients
    • Add-on at existing consults
    • Series and package pre-sell

What your team learns

Two cartridges, one handpiece.

The practical difference in day-to-day use is cartridge choice. Twelve pins for delicate areas, thirty-six for covering a full face. Providers pick up the change in a single training session because everything else they already know still applies.

Cartridges are $34 each and held there by a written consumable price guarantee, which is the part that changes your margins rather than your protocols.

The questions owners actually ask

Straight answers about switching.

Do we lose treatment revenue during the change?

You should not. Keep treating on your current device until the new one is installed and your team is trained. The old device only ships back after that, so there is no window where you cannot perform the treatment.

What happens to the staff training we already paid for?

Most of it carries over. Your providers already understand depth, passes, treatment areas, patient selection and aftercare. What changes is the handpiece, the cartridge system and the depth dial, which is the part training covers.

What if our device is financed or leased?

Tell us up front. A trade-in credit applies to a device you own outright and can transfer title to. If yours is still financed, we will work out whether a payoff, a later transition date or a different structure makes sense.

How do we explain the change to patients?

Most patients do not know or ask which pen you use. They care about the treatment, the recovery and the result. If they do ask, the honest answer is that you moved to a system that gives you finer depth control and lets you keep prices stable.

What if the device arrives and we do not get on with it?

Ask for that in writing before you buy, from us or from anyone else. Confirm the return window, what condition the device must be in, who pays shipping, and whether opened cartridges are refundable. A vendor who will not put it in writing is telling you something.

Find out what your current pen is worth.

Tell us the brand, model and roughly what you pay per cartridge. We will come back with a trade-in range and the economics against your own treatment volume.
